Delete Your Account

You can delete your Viti account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what gets deleted — whether you still have the app installed or not.
Option 1: Delete in the app (instant)
If you still have Viti installed:
- Open the app and go to your Profile
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion
Your account and data are deleted immediately — no waiting period.
Option 2: Request deletion by email (no app required)
If you no longer have the app installed, or can't sign in, you can request deletion here. We will manually action your request and confirm by email within 30 days.
To request deletion, email us with:
- The subject line "Account Deletion Request"
- The email address associated with your Viti account

What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account credentials (email/password) and login access
- Your profile (display name, avatar, bio, settings)
- All your tick-off records and photos
- Your custom travel lists and list memberships
- Your friendships and friend requests
- Your notifications
- Your leaderboard entry and badge progress
What may be retained, and why
Content under active moderation review. If content you created (a profile, visit, tip, or point-of-interest suggestion) is the subject of an open content report at the time you delete your account, we may retain that specific piece of content for up to 90 days so the report can be reviewed, after which it is deleted. This does not delay deletion of the rest of your account or data.
Point-of-interest suggestions you contributed. If a point of interest you suggested has already been approved and published to the shared catalog used by all Viti users, the published point-of-interest entry itself is not tied to your personal account data and remains in the catalog after deletion (in the same way an edit to a shared map wouldn't be undone by deleting the account that suggested it). Any photos or notes you personally attached that are not part of the published entry are deleted with your account.
Beyond these two cases, deletion is permanent and irreversible — we cannot recover your data once it's deleted.
